ORTANIQUES
FEB / MAR

Ortanique is a cross between a sweet orange and a tangerine, and it was discovered in Jamaica in the early 1900s. The word is an amalgam of “orange,” “tangerine,” and “unique,” and it is meant to reflect the character of the fruit, along with the cultivars involved in its production. It is a good source of vitamin C, folic acid and beta-carotene. It also contains potassium, magnesium and vitamins B1, B2 and B3.
