  • GRANNY SMITH

It is one of the most widely cultivated tree fruits, originated from Central Asia. The proverb "An apple a day keeps the doctor away," dates from 19th century Wales. Apples are rich in vitamins A and C, calcium, iron, potassium and folic acid, and can reduce the risk of colon, prostate and lung cancer. They may also help with heart disease, weight loss and controlling cholesterol.
