The kiwifruit is native to southern China, where it is declared as the national fruit of the PRC. It is a rich source of vitamin A, C and E, potassium and linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid. The skin is a good source of flavonoid antioxidants. Kiwifruit has laxative effects, because of the high level of dietary fiber.
